Sustainable Development can mean different things

It can mean different things to developing countries from what it can to developed countries. So a global consensus on this most vital matter for the well-being of planet earth is of utmost importance today. Sustainable Development therefore needs to be studied in its essential elements of survival of not just human beings but all life forms. In short a study that pitches economic efficiency and growth against the backdrop of the preservation of environmental quality and the ecosystem. Self-reliance and people's participation is also a part of sustainable development as are values and ethics in the promotion of development.

A partnership in teaching and research is being worked out with the Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology (GUIDE), Bhuj, Gujarat.

CASII also welcomes collaboration in teaching/research on issues of sustainable development and alternative energies from relevant institutions, governmental agencies and corporate organizations
